LOUIS VUITON
Much anticipation preceded new Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière’s first show for the French label. Accessories played a key role, from single dangly earrings down to red leather booties. There were tiny trunk handbags, clutches and belts knotted at the waist. The opening look encapsulated the wearable, glossy and young vibe—a black A-line leather jacket with wide brown lapels layered over a cream polo-neck mini dress and knee-high boots. The colour scheme was unmistakable LV: brown, white, black and mustard. This retro feel wandered a bit into sci-fi territory as smooth, luxe fabrics were worn as A-line shapes with large pockets and teamed with coloured sunglasses. Bold florals were outlined in black and mixed with leather on dresses, or worn on trousers and paired with a leather jacket.
