A ring of fire in the middle of the catwalk symbolised the power of the Italian designer’s sexy-fierce pieces for autumn and winter. Flames decorated skirts, dresses, coats and fur as the models heated up the circular catwalk. Elemental, too, were the layers of animal prints and skins that were key to this collection—handpainted lion heads were a recurring motif, as was python print, seen on bombers and skin-tight trousers. Mink collars tied these casual looks together with evening wear, while fur stoles embellished a mix of long and short 1920s-inspired flapper frocks, exquisitely beaded, shimmering and Gatsby-esque. Neckwear stood out as giant swinging pendants added to the allure of the kohl-eyed models, encouraging those femmes fatales to get in touch with their darker side.
