SALVAT ORE FERRAGAMO
The poncho is big news for autumn and Massimiliano Giornetti opened his show with a blanket-style version in tweed, later showing another incarnation with a polo neck in a beautifully rich shade of plum. Layering was used to contrasting effect: heavy coats concealed delicate dresses, thick mohair sweaters were worn with shimmering pleated skirts, and a vest was worn under a shirt. Fur featured as it had throughout many of the winter collections— here, beaver and marmot. Accessories included tall boots, crocodile-heeled shoes, doctor’s satchels and fur shopping bags. The colour palette was inviting—chocolate, camel, sand, bronze and brick red—sure to heat up any winter wardrobe.
