THE ANDRE AGASSI FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION HAS RAISED MORE THAN US$177 MILLION SINCE ITS FORMATION IN 1994. SWISS WATCH BRAND LONGINES IS THE FOUNDATION’S LONG-TIME PARTNER AND PRESENTING SPONSOR, AND REGULARLY CONTRIBUTES TO FUNDRAISING EFFORTS. AT JUST ONE EVENT, THE GRAND SLAM FOR CHILDREN BENEFIT CONCERT IN 2011, THE COLLABORATION RAISED A TRULY STAGGERING US$26.1 MILLION.

INCOME FROM THE INTERACTIVE LONGINES SMASH CORNER, SET UP IN PARIS LAST YEAR AT ROLAND GARROS STADIUM, ALSO FEEDS BACK INTO THE FOUNDATION. IN ADDITION, DURING THE 2013 FRENCH OPEN AT A DINNER ON THE CHAMPSELYSÉES, LONGINES PRESENTED A CHEQUE FOR US$50,000 TO AGASSI, WHO IS A LONGINES AMBASSADOR OF ELEGANCE.

“LONGINES SHARES CORE VALUES WITH ANDRE AGASSI,” EXPLAINS JUAN-CARLOS CAPELLI, ITS VICE- PRESIDENT AND HEAD OF INTERNATIONAL MARKETING. “ELEGANCE IS NOT JUST HOW YOU LOOK, BUT INTRINSICALLY WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU DO TO HELP OTHERS,” HE SAYS.

OF THE COLLABORATION, AGASSI SAYS, “LONGINES SAW WHAT WE DO AND GOT CREATIVE WITH WAYS TO HELP THE FOUNDATION, FROM SCHOLARSHIPS TO SENDING OUT WATCHMAKERS TO THE CAMPUS TO TEACH KIDS THEIR CRAFT. THEY FOUND INTERESTING WAYS TO GET INVOLVED AND FOUND A WAY TO MY HEART.”
