DAVID YURMAN

-

One of the few luxury jewellers in the United States, sculptor David Yurman began the brand in 1980 with the support of his wife, Sybil. Using his expertise and artistic skills as a sculptor, Yurman created classic American pieces exuding sophistication and modernity.

In 1983, Yurman created the signature Cable Bracelet. A twisted helix in sterling silver and 18K gold, it features gemstones at each end and quickly became an iconic piece for the brand. In 2008, David Yurman launched its first signature women’s fragrance with the Cable Bracelet as inspiration. It continued its expansion beyond jewellery with the launch of its men’s watch collection in 2009.

In 2010, the brand celebrated its 30th anniversary by opening its first European boutique, at the Printemps department store in Paris. Its flagship store in Madison Avenue was renovated to create a townhouse-style boutique showcasing Yurman’s first High Jewellery collection. The line marked the entrance of David’s son Evan to the business. The collection featured pieces designed by Evan and crafted with precious stones.

David Yurman is active in the arts and charity scene. In 2001, it set up the David & Sybil Yurman Humanitarian and Arts Foundation. It also supports organisations such as the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Breast Cancer Research Fund.
