Tips, trends and news from the beauty world

Black opium, whose launch is one of the most highly anticipated of the year, is said to be “as addictive as that first shot of caffeine.” It’s no surprise, then, that coffee is one of the dominating notes of the fragrance, complemented and balanced with pink pepper, orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla, patchouli and cedar. Edie Campbell, 2013’s Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards, is the face of the campaign, her jet-black hair, piercing eyes, rock-star attitude and mysterious beauty making her a natural fit for the sultry scent. And the glamorous, glittery, solid black flacon—reminiscent of the original but with a modern twist—is an opulent addition to any woman’s dressing table.
