JACK BLACK’S TONGUE-IN-CHEEK ROCK PROJECT TENACIOUS D HEADLINES THIS YEAR’S CLOCKENFLAP FESTIVAL
Clockenflap is back for its seventh year and boasting an impressive line-up from the US, UK, Taiwan, Hong Kong and more. Leading the pack is US comedy-rock duo Tenacious D—actor Jack Black (pictured) and Kyle Gass. The pair, who have played alongside musicians from such rock bands as Foo Fighters and Bad Religion, and have guest-starred on Saturday Night Live, first gained popularity in the late ’90s with their own TV series (also titled Tenacious D). They’ve been charming crowds with their uniquely absurd songs about sex, drugs and rock ’n’ roll ever since. Other big-name acts for the three-day festival include American indie rock band The Flaming Lips, disco funksters Kool & the Gang, Scottish post-rock group Mogwai and Taiwanese singer-songwriter Deserts Chang.
