Tour de Force Great Wines of Italy

Hong Kong Tatler and wine critic James Suckling joined forces again to present the third edition of Asia’s largest showcase of premium Italian wines. Held in the grand ballroom of the Four Seasons, the two-day Great Wines of Italy event brought together representatives from 77 of Italy’s best wineries, allowing more than 1,000 local and visiting oenophiles to sample the finest bottles from different regions, and to meet and chat with the producers. An exclusive dinner featuring wine from the participating estates marked the opening of the event. The menu, which included baked duck breast with rock salt and wok-fried Australian beef with mandarin peel, was lovingly prepared by chef Chan Yan-tak of Lung King Heen. Participating wineries included Pio Cesare, Bibi Graetz, Castiglion del Bosco and Marchesi Antinori, to name just a few. Those who stayed well past midnight enjoyed offerings from a wine-tasting bar specially set up for the evening. Among the guests were Moses Tsang, Monica Wong, Olivia Lee-davies and Charles Yang. The dinner was followed the next day by the Grand Tasting.
