Life’s a Frill

CAPTURE THE JOY OF SPRING AS FASHION BURSTS INTO LIFE WITH THREE-DIMENSIONAL RUFFLES FLUTTERING AS PRETTILY AS PETALS

-

Prabal Gurung is inspired by Korean artist Lee Ufan as printed fabric in blue hues interplay as frills on skirts, and across shoulders and necklines. The look is one of contrast: opulence and starkness, pattern and plain, texture and smooth. For a heavier, evening look, Marni’s version is like couture origami. Ruffles are a signature of the label and this season they are reimagined in rich, heavy brocade carved into frills swathed across the legs with fresh white cotton peeping from underneath. To complete the look, balance the drama of the fabric by wearing chunky, three-dimensional jewellery while keeping shoes and bags strappy and simple, respectively.
