“The starting point for [this collection] is the feeling of comfort and ease,” says Bottega Veneta’s creative director, Tomas Maier, of spring’s unconstrained silhouettes. Tailoring remains meticulous as shirts, trousers and jackets are given the casual treatment. Deliciously crisp cotton, soft cotton-linen and airy viscose are worn in a palette of sand and pale hues. Trousers are cropped or rolled up, and Tod’s perennial moccasin would complete this look. A new doublebreasted jacket with a sculptured roped shoulder and a narrow waist creates a sleek and slim look for Hackett’s Mayfair tailored collection. Wider, doublepleat trousers in a classically narrow shape also feature, while the fabric is pinstripe and check.
