Pearl Poon and Louisa Cheng Dickson Poon, group executive chairman of the Dickson Group of Companies, was recently conferred the title of Knight Bachelor on the Queen’s New Year Honours List in recognition of his contribution to the international business community, and for his support of charitable causes and higher education. To celebrate this acknowlegement, a cocktail party was held at the residence of the British Consul- General to Hong Kong and Macau, Caroline Wilson, for Poon’s family, close friends, and business associates. Poon told the gathering of about 50 people he was “very honoured to be appointed this title by Her Majesty the Queen—and to be the only Knight Bachelor of Chinese descent on the list this year.” Among those present to toast Poon were Ronald Arculli, Sally Leung, Marie- Christine Lee and Brian Li.
