1963–1974 The original 911 made its debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show and went on sale at US$6,500. One of its most iconic fans, Steve Mcqueen, drove a slate-grey 911 S in the 1971 movie Le Mans. It sold for US$1.375 million at auction a few years ago.
