HENNESSY

Hennessy hosted a lavish dinner and cognac appreciation party at The Peninsula to mark 250 years of producing its exquisite golden nectar. The evening was the climax of a three-day exhibition of documents, portraits and other fascinating memorabilia telling the story of the illustrious maison and its time-honoured rituals. A highlight of the dinner for the VIPS was the matching of the special limited edition Hennessy released for the anniversary, the 250 Collector Blend (see p.208), with a variety of dishes. It was announced during the dinner that 10 of the 250 barrels of Collector Blend would be donated to charities around the world, one being The Nature Conservancy, which has a strong presence in Hong Kong. After dinner, the guests moved on to the Garden Suite to indulge in cheese, chocolate and cigars while savouring the special Hennessy cognac.
