Hen­nessy hosted a lav­ish din­ner and co­gnac ap­pre­ci­a­tion party at The Penin­sula to mark 250 years of pro­duc­ing its ex­quis­ite golden nec­tar. The evening was the cli­max of a three-day ex­hi­bi­tion of doc­u­ments, por­traits and other fas­ci­nat­ing me­mora­bilia telling the story of the il­lus­tri­ous mai­son and its time-hon­oured rit­u­als. A high­light of the din­ner for the VIPS was the match­ing of the spe­cial limited edi­tion Hen­nessy re­leased for the an­niver­sary, the 250 Col­lec­tor Blend (see p.208), with a va­ri­ety of dishes. It was an­nounced dur­ing the din­ner that 10 of the 250 bar­rels of Col­lec­tor Blend would be do­nated to char­i­ties around the world, one be­ing The Na­ture Con­ser­vancy, which has a strong pres­ence in Hong Kong. Af­ter din­ner, the guests moved on to the Gar­den Suite to in­dulge in cheese, choco­late and cigars while savour­ing the spe­cial Hen­nessy co­gnac.
