The city’s bright­est and braini­est were treated to a fes­tive bash at this year’s Ivy Ball—with a Mardi Gras theme, fea­tur­ing en­er­getic dancers in vivid cos­tumes. Hun­dreds of Ivy League stu­dents and alumni from all eras con­vened in the grand hall of the Con­ven­tion and Ex­hi­bi­tion Cen­tre over a feast of Ca­jun shrimp and oys­ters, baked Chilean seabass and beignets souf­flés with banana gelato, as well as wines spon­sored by Golden Gate Wine. The night was filled with fun, ca­ma­raderie and friendly com­pe­ti­tion as grad­u­ates of the eight Ivy League schools—har­vard, Prince­ton, Yale, Columbia, Dart­mouth, Brown, Cor­nell and the Univer­sity of Penn­syl­va­nia—as well as grad­u­ates of MIT took turns on the stage to sing their school’s song; Cor­nell took home this year’s top hon­ours. This was fol­lowed by a raf­fle draw with a host of great prizes, in­clud­ing Tatcha skin­care good­ies, and coupons from cy­cling stu­dio XYZ and hair sa­lon Air­play Bar. Among the alumni present were Dou­glas Woo, Shan Cie Fok and Sue Lynn Woo-hwa.
