Mardi Party

IVY BALL

-

The city’s brightest and brainiest were treated to a festive bash at this year’s Ivy Ball—with a Mardi Gras theme, featuring energetic dancers in vivid costumes. Hundreds of Ivy League students and alumni from all eras convened in the grand hall of the Convention and Exhibition Centre over a feast of Cajun shrimp and oysters, baked Chilean seabass and beignets soufflés with banana gelato, as well as wines sponsored by Golden Gate Wine. The night was filled with fun, camaraderie and friendly competition as graduates of the eight Ivy League schools—harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell and the University of Pennsylvania—as well as graduates of MIT took turns on the stage to sing their school’s song; Cornell took home this year’s top honours. This was followed by a raffle draw with a host of great prizes, including Tatcha skincare goodies, and coupons from cycling studio XYZ and hair salon Airplay Bar. Among the alumni present were Douglas Woo, Shan Cie Fok and Sue Lynn Woo-hwa.
