Six Senses’ first re­sort foray into Europe im­merses guests in the de­lights of Por­tu­gal’s lus­cious Douro Val­ley. The eight-hectare es­tate mixes her­itage and in­no­va­tion, and the re­stored 19th­cen­tury manor house and pri­vate vil­las fea­ture con­tem­po­rary in­te­ri­ors by New York-based Clodagh De­sign. The cel­e­bra­tion of wine reaches its zenith at the re­sort’s sig­na­ture res­tau­rant, the Wine Li­brary.
