Mum’s the Word

The effortlessly stylish Audry Ai-morrow was a delight to work with, putting everyone at ease with her professional composure during our cover shoot

-

udry ai-morrow is as cool as a cucumber. Laid-back and soft-spoken, nothing phased the svelte mother of three during our five-hour cover shoot at Galerie Huit, during which she was dressed, re-dressed, styled, restyled and draped in a cornucopia of Van Cleef & Arpels jewels. A former model (“Well, only on weekends!” she exclaimed when we revisited that time in her life), she was comfortable in front of the camera without being at all seduced by it.

When we caught up with her a week later for an interview over homemade cappuccinos, she was just as relaxed. It’s always a treat interviewing someone in their home, and we loved the fact that Audry’s so aptly reflects her chic yet casual self. An airy, tropical hideaway on The Peak, its gentle tones of white, beige and brown make for a relaxing retreat. The grand piano, which sits in the centre of the living room, was a talking point during our interview, prompting Audry’s amusing recollections of her “tiger mum” and enforced music practice. Her iphone was never far from her hand, though, symbolic of the multitasking she has perfected. Audry comes alive when talking about her children, and it was clear throughout our interview that she considers her family life sacred.
