agi­cians, min­strels and Shake­spearean ac­tors from around the globe will be­witch and de­light rev­ellers at the Ox­ford and Cam­bridge So­ci­ety’s bi­en­nial ball, which will celebrate the 400th an­niver­sary of Wil­liam Shake­speare’s birth, at Hong Kong Dis­ney­land Ho­tel on Oc­to­ber 10. Some 500 mem­bers, friends and guests of the so­ci­ety will be en­ter­tained by the troupe as they en­joy drinks in the “Dream­ers Gar­den” be­fore a feast of English wines and fruits of the for­est. Of­fer­ings from Bri­tish Air­ways, Ti­mothy Oul­ton, Shangri-la Ho­tels and Re­sorts and the BBC, among oth­ers, will go un­der the ham­mer of Jonathan Stone of Christie’s dur­ing the evening to raise funds for the Ox­ford and Cam­bridge So­ci­ety Schol­ar­ship Fund. Pa­trons David Li, rep­re­sent­ing Cam­bridge, and David Ak­er­sjones, rep­re­sent­ing Ox­ford, will pre­side over the night, whose tagline is “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
