Paolo Marai
CEO PROFILE BACKGROUND
Paolo Marai grew up loving watches, a passion inherited from his father and grandfather. After graduating from Bocconi University, he started his career with Thomson Consumer Electronics, but then switched to luxury and fashion, where he worked for almost 15 years in connection with brands such as Fendi, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Kenzo. In 2005, after a stint at the Swatch Group, he was appointed president and CEO of the Timex Group’s luxury division, which is responsible for the production of Salvatore Ferragamo’s watchmaking line.

Salvatore Ferragamo’s
2015 timepiece collection focused on revisiting the existing F-80 and Ferragamo 1898 Sport lines for men; for women, it launched the Varina collection. Marai believes the new collections will do well in Asia as the company has adjusted case sizes to fit smaller wrists.
