BACKGROUND After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in California, Diah Djojonegoro studied fashion and later graduated from the GIA. The Singaporeborn Indonesian worked in the fashion industry for Derek Lam, Gap, Edun and Teen Vogue in New York before launching her eponymous jewellery brand in 2012. It took two years to develop her line, during which time she created bespoke pieces for clients that spread by word of mouth. Her brand comprises 10 ongoing collections of high jewellery pieces intended for everyday wear.

DESIGN SIGNATURE Many of her fine filigree and abstract formations, said to have a rock ’n’ roll edge, are influenced by her love affair with New York City, such as the Pyramid collection, whose shape was inspired by a structure she saw on the roof of a building near her apartment.

FAVOURITE MATERIALS Blackened gold makes her edgy, high jewellery pieces look vintage yet cool, and feature smaller pavé diamonds in intricate settings.
