In a Flap
With the mysterious theme “The Cosmic and the Communal,” the city’s largest music festival, Clockenflap, is promising to deliver some far-out vibes to the West Kowloon Cultural District with its three-day mash-up of music, art, food and all-round revelry. Headline acts include post-punk heroes New Order (pictured), British indie band the Libertines, disco-funk legends Chic featuring Nile Rodgers and Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice. For those looking for more than music, the organisers are building up the festival’s art component. The Magnet Palace—a six-metre-high pyramid structure on the edge of the harbour, will house mixed media works from 10 avant-garde international and local artists.
