ow in its 12th year, the Sovereign Asian Art Prize is open to artists nominated by art profession­als in countries and territorie­s across the region. The competitio­n’s final stage will see 30 shortliste­d artworks brought to Hong Kong to be exhibited for the public and the judges—this year, they’ll be on display from May 21 to 31 at The Rotunda in One Exchange Square. On June 3 at the Four Seasons Hotel, the winner will be announced at the gala dinner, where he or she will be awarded a prize of US$30,000. The winning artwork then becomes the property of the Sovereign Art Foundation, which lends it out to partners, patrons and institutio­ns; the remaining 29 artworks are sold at auction, with proceeds going to the artists and towards the Sovereign Art Foundation’s charitable activities.
