The In­ter­na­tional Bac­calau­re­ate (IB) Di­ploma Pro­gramme is a rig­or­ous, in­ter­na­tion­ally recog­nised qual­i­fi­ca­tion that of­fers ex­cel­lent all-round ed­u­ca­tion. At Yew Chung In­ter­na­tional School (YCIS), the IB Di­ploma Pro­gramme is aca­dem­i­cally chal­leng­ing, pre­par­ing stu­dents in Years 12 to 13 (stu­dents aged 16 to 19) for suc­cess at univer­sity when they grad­u­ate. All IB Di­ploma stu­dents take six sub­jects—three at a higher level and three at a stan­dard level. These must in­clude one sub­ject each in maths, sci­ence, hu­man­i­ties, along with two lan­guages and a topic in the cre­ative field.

Ad­di­tion­ally, stu­dents can­not pass without also con­tribut­ing a re­search-ori­ented 4,000word ex­tended es­say (also great prac­tice for univer­sity-level stud­ies), a “the­ory of knowl­edge” pa­per and, most sig­nif­i­cantly, a se­ries of ac­tiv­i­ties re­lat­ing to Cre­ativ­ity, Ac­tiv­ity and Ser­vice (CAS).
