Hitting the Right Note
It was certainly a harmonious affair, given the theme of “Love and Peace,” when more than 400 supporters gathered in the Grand Ballroom of the Conrad Hotel for the annual gala dinner of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG). The night of song and dance raised funds for the federation’s services, which benefit the city’s at-risk youth and disadvantaged children. A cappella ensembles that performed during the evening included the Japanese quartet Hamojin, the French sextet Ommm, and the Socal Vocals from the US. The climax of the evening was Anna Lo’s performance with the federation’s own youth choir, the Hong Kong Melody Makers, who serenaded guests with a moving rendition of We Are Young.
