Power Lunch

WOMEN OF HOPE AWARDS

-

The hall of the Asia Society filled with optimistic chatter as guests gathered for the third annual Women of Hope Awards luncheon, which raises funds for the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Fund. Foundation chairwoman Jo Soo-tang kicked off proceedings with a welcoming address in which she thanked the guests for their support. Sharie Ross-tse then gave a short inspirational speech, sharing the story of her own experience with cancer. She urged guests to have regular check-ups and to help those in need. The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to nine women in recognition of their efforts in a range of different fields. However, it was the testimonials that tugged strongest on everyone’s heart strings and left many guests teary-eyed, with seven-year-old leukaemia survivor Luke Inkin and Bonita Cheung sharing their stories of battling cancer.
