CHI HENG BALL

-

Guests at the Chi Heng Ball arrived to a winter wonderland in the Mira Hotel, but the atmosphere was anything but wintry

Guests arrived in a winter wonderland complete with a light dusting of snow in the ballroom of the Mira Hotel for this year’s Chi Heng Ball. The theme was Frosted and there was certainly some winter magic in the air—it was even snowing outside, or through the projected “windows” at least. Hosted by Cathy Lee and Chung To, who set up the Chi Heng Foundation, the evening raised more than HK$5 million for the charity, which helps children affected by HIV/AIDS in China. Esther Ma was emcee and inspired generous pledges from guests including Emily Lam Ho, Anne Wang-liu and Daisy Ho. Local designer Johnny Lau’s fashion show was a hit, featuring head-turning gowns from his label Johlaun and jewellery from Emperor Watch & Jewellery. And as the evening drew to a close it was time for the auction of everything from jewellery to “experiences”—all for a good cause.
