LOUVRE MUSEUM GALA DINNER
Some 500 VIPS gathered for a gala dinner in Macau ahead of an exhibition from the Louvre that’s heading for Hong Kong
The Louvre hosted a gala dinner for more than 500 government representatives, business leaders and VIPS at the Wynn Palace Cotai, Macau, ahead of the opening this month of a major exhibition at the National Museum of China in Beijing, Invention of the Louvre: Eight Centuries of French History Through the Museum’s Collections. The exhibition— which features more than 130 paintings, sculptures, prints and artefacts recording key moments in the history of the museum and its premises’ previous incarnation as a royal palace—will move to Hong Kong’s Heritage Museum in April as part of Le French May and 20th anniversary celebrations of the Hong Kong SAR. The sumptuous menu was created by Michelin-starred chef Guy Martin. François Curiel, chairman of Christie’s Asia-pacific, presided over an auction of fine wines, art and luxury accessories.
