Breaking the Mould WOMEN’S FOUNDATION DINNER

Women in technology was the focus of the Women’s Foundation annual dinner, which attracted more than 500 participants to the JW Marriott Hotel. Speakers emphasised the importance of empowering women in the fields of science and technology. They included Sabrina Peng, vice-president of Ant Financial Services and the youngest partner of the Alibaba Group, and Shiza Shahid, the co-founder of the Malala Fund and founder of Now Ventures, which invests in mission-driven start-ups. The evening raised more than HK$4 million for the foundation and its programmes to encourage girls and young women to embrace Stem—science, technology, engineering and mathematics— subjects and careers.
