Women in tech­nol­ogy was the fo­cus of the Women’s Foun­da­tion an­nual din­ner, which at­tracted more than 500 par­tic­i­pants to the JW Mar­riott Ho­tel. Speak­ers em­pha­sised the im­por­tance of em­pow­er­ing women in the fields of science and tech­nol­ogy. They in­cluded Sab­rina Peng, vice-pres­i­dent of Ant Fi­nan­cial Ser­vices and the youngest part­ner of the Alibaba Group, and Shiza Shahid, the co-founder of the Malala Fund and founder of Now Ven­tures, which in­vests in mis­sion-driven start-ups. The even­ing raised more than HK$4 mil­lion for the foun­da­tion and its pro­grammes to en­cour­age girls and young women to em­brace Stem—science, tech­nol­ogy, en­gi­neer­ing and math­e­mat­ics— sub­jects and ca­reers.
