After graduating from Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion in Womenswear and Bags & Accessories, respectively, and having been immersed for a number of years in the capital’s eclectic fashion scene, Thai-born Vatanika Patamasingh launched her eponymous womenswear label with a debut collection for autumn/winter 2011. The label is now recognised as one of Thailand’s top luxury fashion brands. The designer—named last year as one of Asia Tatler’s most stylish women—is known for her signature prints inspired by the natural world, and a femininity that comes with a healthy side dish of attitude. Her SS17 collection continues in the same vein. Presented in an array of cool tones—white, grey, black, navy blue and even pale pink— and light, wearable fabrics, such as silk satin, mesh and super lightweight cotton, the gossamer-thin clothes are given a masculine edge with bold pinstripes and robust golden chain decorations. These are beautiful, sleek and slinky clothes for fearless, feminine girl bosses.
