ROMAIN JEROME MOON ORBITER GMT
Avant-garde watchmaker Romain Jerome last year introduced a new version of its futuristic Moon Orbiter watch, adding a GMT function and a new round case. Crafted in steel and including metal from Nasa’s Apollo 11 spacecraft, the Moon Orbiter GMT is designed with the same spring-loaded lug system as the original 2013 Moon Orbiter Tourbillon. Though still rather massive at 48 millimetres, the new version’s round case ensures the piece is more comforable to wear than its predecessor, which came with a rectangular case measuring 49mm x 45mm x 20mm. The watch’s main plate, which doubles as a sub-dial, is engraved with an astral motif, and on top is an X-shaped bridge, with a highly architectural flying tourbillon placed at 9 o’clock, and the time dial occupying the 3 o’clock position. four on a three-armed carousel sweep across the 60-minute scale to show the time in both digital and analogue form.
