The new edition of the Ivy Ball commemorates the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s handover
Glitz, glamour and a multitude of the city’s key society figures will light up the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai on June 17 for the annual Ivy Ball. Organised by the Hong Kong alumni clubs of some of the world’s most prestigious universities—brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton, Yale and Mit—this year’s gala is titled “Hong Kong, Hong Kong” and will commemorate the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s historic handover to Mainland China. “As in each of the previous editions, it shall be an evening of fun, fond memories, new friends and even a bit of friendly competition,” says Vincent Ma, co-chairman of the ball. Some 600 graduates (and their plus-ones) from leading universities, a huge party and the marking of a historic milestone sound like the ingredients of an epic bash to us.
