FIRST INITIATIVE FOUNDATION ART OF MUSIC DINNER AND RECITAL
In keeping with the First Initiative Foundation’s focus on community outreach, heritage conservation and cultural enhancement, a famous painting and a piano recital by Clive Britton featured when family and friends of Michelle Ong gathered at the Chinese Library in Tai Kwun for an intimate dinner. Peter Lam, Timothy Fok and Michael Tien were just a few of the familiar faces at the gathering. After dining, the VIPS moved from the restaurant to JC Cube, where Britton played Hungarian composer Franz Liszt’s Sposalizio amid projections of Raphael’s Renaissance era masterpiece Sposalizio della Vergine (The Marriage of the Virgin). Liszt was inspired to compose Sposalizio after seeing the painting at Milan’s Brera Picture Gallery in 1837.
