Abstract Qingdao marine museum and the institute of oceanology, chinese academy of sciences jointly organized the exhibition "Exploring Deep Sea: the achievements of the Science Research Vessel, Kexue" in 2015, which aims at offering access to the knowledge and value of the deep-sea resources as well as shows an example of innovation and collaboration. 0 Introduction

As the first national themed museum of marine biology, Qingdao Marine Museum has been well-known not only for collection, classification and identification of marine life specimens but also for its scientific research in breeding some marine animals, not to mention its main responsibility for popularizing marine biology and marine science. In recent years, the museum has cooperated with the Institute of Oceanology,0 Chinese Academy of Sciences and jointly to hold some instructive temporary oceanthemed exhibitions and "Exploring Deep Sea: the Achievements of the Science Research Vessel , Kexue" is one of them. We shall make analysis of its major organizational concepts and work in this paper.

1 Profile of the exhibition

"Exploring Deep Sea: the achievements of the Science Research Vessel, Kexue" showcased the findings made by a Chinese research vessel named Kexue during a mission to explore the deep-sea resources. It was an all-round display of their discoveries, in which 21 selected exhibits are furnished by the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, such as the model of the research ship, biological specimens and ore samples from deep sea. 2 The combination of mutual strengths ensures an excellent exhibition

2.1 Combination of mutual functions

2.3 Combination of mutual talents

This exhibition witnessed the effective cooperation of both parties. To ensure its success, they should work together not only to make a general exhibition plan but also to make every task fulfilled effectively, which entailed the cooperation in many details that involved participation of the authorities of both parties, the leaders of some relevant departments as well as the working staff from both sides. Luckily, the authorities of both parties attached great importance to the joint exhibition and many participants from both sides worked productively. During the preparation, the young participants gained a chance to improve their working skills.

3 An exhibition full of innovations

3.2 The innovation of exhibits

3.3 The innovation of method

As the remote operated vehicle was too big and valuable to appear in the exhibition, Qingdao Marine Museum displayed a high quality model of the Remote Operated Vehicle made by a company so as to satisfy the visitors' interest in its operation, which was illustrated through a video and demonstration instead of boring presentation of words.

3.4 The innovation of theme
