Housing around 20,000 old records and a pipe organ, Rocky Music Library, in Ningbo’s Jiangbei District, is dedicated to sharing the history and knowledge of classic music with its citizens. The library has held over 40 free lectures about music since its opening in April, 2017.

“We want to make down-to-earth sharing about classic music and hope it can enrich people’s life,” said Zhang Jian, one of the two founders of the library.

A piano-education product, called Piano Bridge, has been developed by Ningbo Yongdong Information Technology Co Ltd to help more people play the piano with ease.

Beginners can learn to play a song quickly by using their fingers under the guidance of the numbers displayed on the piano keys. For example, number one means you press the key with your thumb, number two means use the forefinger, three the middle finger, four the ring finger and five the little finger.

The numbers are displayed and changed on a LED display equipped on the keyboard and software is connected to the display through Bluetooth, where people can select songs and its related numbers will be shown on the display.

“This is an easy-to-learn product and we plan to promote it to the elderly who want to learn to play the piano in their twilight years,” said Chen Jianshe, director of marketing from the company.
