Have your say on 2035 master plan

Views are being sought on a master plan compiled by the Jiading and Shanghai government­s on the district’s developmen­t by 2035.

The district is aiming to become a world-class automobile industry center and an important scientific innovation center.

There will be around 1.6 million permanent residents, with 266.6 square kilometers for planned constructi­on, of which 250.1 square kilometers will be in urban areas.

Anting, Nanxiang and Jiangqiao will be developed into core towns.

Anting Town aims to be a world center for the automobile industry.

There will be three urban circles in Jiading — one with Jiading New City as its core, one made up of Anting in its center, and another made of Nanxiang and Jiangqiao.

In 2035, no fewer than 235.9 square kilometers in Jiading will be used for ecological purposes and 19 square kilometers will be kept for future developmen­t.

Jiading New City will have a total population of up to 700,000 in a planned area of 121.8 square kilometers. From Metro Line 11’s Jiading New City Station to Yuanxiang Lake, the area will be devoted to culture and scientific innovation.

In the south of Jiading, around 100 square kilometers will form an ecological space.

In the north, the Zhouqiao area of Jiading Old Town will be devoted to traditiona­l culture and become a public activity center.

Waigang Countrysid­e Park, Jialiu Countrysid­e Park and Jiabao Forest will be set up on the base of Jiabei Countrysid­e Park. The total area will be around 170 square kilometers.

In 2035, the average per capita area of greenery in Jiading will be 14 square meters. In addition to the above parks, another 22 parks will be set up, along with more than 200 kilometers of greenways.

Jiading plans to develop a local network of mediumcapa­city buses and have 784 kilometers of road networks.
