Renovation to improve cultural activities

- Ran Tao and Zhang Long

JIADING is upgrading 254 village and community cultural activity centers this year.

Through the centers, local residents can access to cultural services. It’s the public service system’s responsibility to help residents benefit from cultural activities.

The community and village centers have to reach 100 and 200 square meters respectively; each has at least three organized cultural and arts troupes.

After upgrading, Taiping village in Jiangqiao Town has eight cultural activity centers, with rooms for dancing, reading and painting, each with about 50 square meters.

At the Xiwang community in Malu Town, its 100-squaremeter cultural activity center has been divided into rooms for Wi-Fi and digital expience centers, audio classroom, digital piano, Western painting and dancing.

The center has greatly enriched the local residents’ cultural lives.

Other than revitalizing the public cultural lives’ resources, cultural and arts shows were presented to the local residents of Malu Town at the cultural center.

At Jiading Town community cultural center, there are about 16,000 local residents every year who have enrolled in the 68 sessions of arts classes including dancing, opera singing, calligraphy, painting and musical instrument playing.

Along with the cultivation of cultural activities, the community has more artloving residents and the arts troupes are constantly growing, according to community committee representatives.
