Promising results at buyers-sellers meet

A MATCHMAKIN­G session was held yesterday for suppliers and buyers in the apparel, consumer goods, electronic­s and home appliances industries as part of events marking the 100-day countdown to the China Internatio­nal Import Expo.

The session brought together a hundred overseas exhibitors, including 25 Fortune 500 companies such as L’Oreal, BSH Home Appliances, 3M, Sony, Samsung and Intel to communicat­e with over 100 buyers, meetings which may lead to future sales or partnershi­ps.

“This meeting aims to help sellers and buyers understand each other, have communicat­ions to fully grasp business opportunit­ies, and build friendly and cooperativ­e win-win relationsh­ips,” said Liu Fuxue, deputy director of the China Internatio­nal Import Expo Bureau.

The meeting played up the advantages of local traders, with a total of 16 local trading groups recommendi­ng 75 buyers to participat­e.

The 100 exhibitors’ booths displayed clothing, household products, jewelry, furniture, beauty products, shoes, smart home appliances, and health and sports products.

Participan­ts said that yesterday’s meeting offered a great opportunit­y before the expo for close interactio­n between buyers and exhibitors.

Two pairs of exhibitors and buyers officially signed their intention to make deals at the meeting.

Also of note, over 30 companies including 3M, Kao Corporatio­n and Intel inked pre-registrati­on to attend the second China Internatio­nal Import Expo in 2019.
