THE first China International Import Expo will be held in November in Shanghai, and Jiading has more than 700 private and state-owned companies registered to participate in the expo.

An official with Jiading District Economic Committee estimated that there will be over 2,000 professional participators, including purchasers, government agencies, stateowned institutions and social organizations.

Applicants needed to possess an invitation code to register at the official CIIE website and be subject to the trade delegations’ management.

Shanghai MarcoPolo E-C, which will take part in the expo, said it had clear goals about its participation in the event. It wanted to find out if there are any overseas companies that are qualified for their purchase needs and also to promote their brand and branch into overseas markets.

Liu Yanhui, of MarcoPolo E-C’s supply chain, said the company had a bonded warehouse in Shanghai and rich experience in customs declarations and inspections, and docking foreign companies with Chinese markets. Liu believed that the CIIE would provide a good platform for the company’s future development.

Jiading’s trade delegations’ preparatory work is fully underway. Jiading Export Processing Zone has been chosen as the district’s only perennial exhibition platform.

According to the trading platform’s requirements, the zone will undertake services for the expo such as online exhibition, online business docking, trade and payment settlement, facilitating the global quality products, services and technologies to enter into the Chinese markets.
