Service centers at terminals to take off

- Yang Jian

THE first batch of specialized service centers for the China International Import Expo have been unveiled at Pudong and Hongqiao airports.

The seven centers at the arrival level of both terminal buildings feature English-speaking staff who can answer questions about the expo, as well as arrange transport, accommodation, catering and other services.

A flagship center covering about 60 square meters was initially launched at the Hongqiao T2 terminal on Monday.

It has reception, exhibition and lounge areas.

Two service staff dressed in red are serving visitors between 8am and 10pm behind counters every day.

A multimedia touch-screen has also been installed at each of the centers, where visitors can obtain information about the expo and participants. The centers also have medical kits and mobile phone chargers.

Meanwhile, a large interactive LED screen was unveiled at Pudong International Airport yesterday.

The 4.5-meter-tall and 15meter-long screen at the T2 terminal will display the logo, mascot, and other information about the expo as visitors approach.

After the expo, the screen will feature a forest scene. When visitors walk closer, flowers will bloom and butterflies appear.
