WAIGANG Town has set up standardized construction systems for land management and use, production and circulation of agricultural products, agritourism and other fields.

For example, at the beginning of this year, Shanghai Baidikai Fruit and Vegetable and Planting Cooperative in Waigang set up a standardized system for water cultivation under the guidance of Jiading’s market supervision authority and the town’s agricultural department.

The cooperative has standardized real-time monitoring of indoor temperature, the space between each plant and the number of cultivated varieties.

Take hydroponic peppermint for example, the spacing of seedlings should be 5 centimeters and the temperature at 35 degrees Celsius.

The pilot standardized planting system has brought great convenience to local farmers, greatly increased yields and optimized the working environment of agricultural mechanization.

“Before the standard was put into use, we saw many difficulties in exploring new planting techniques,” said farmer Wang Manfen.

The average ploughing or harvesting area of a single machine per day has now increased by half, which greatly promotes efficiency.

Waigang has also set up a standard for land utilization and agritourism.

For example, Jiading’s Jiabei Country Park has built a 10hectare flower field after the implementation of the planning standard for agritourism.
