Trade facilitation saves time and money

FIFTEEN rangefinders repaired and delivered by Hesai Technology have been sent to the US from Jiading Export Processing Zone.
“The clearing of customs is even faster than we had imagined,” Zheng Cheng from Hesai Logistics said.
It’s the first bonded repair case on laser products in China, in which Hesai Technology employees check or repair the rangefinders with damaged parts, loss of function or defects from domestic and overseas destinations, and reship them from a specially supervised area.
The Jiading Export Processing Zone took the initiative to adopt the free trade zone practice and promote practical trade facilitation, which saved a lot of time and cost for the enterprises.
It only takes one to two days to enter and leave the country.
No security deposit is required. Tax-free policies are also available for overseas purchase of maintenance equipment.
“These incentives are helpful for us to provide an after-sales service, improve our brand and participate in international competition,” Zheng said.
Previously it took them more than 10 days to make import and export clearance, and they have to pay deposit to the customs every time. It cost the company nearly 10 million yuan (US$1.43 million) as deposit at the customs at most.
The new practice regards the repairing within China but outside of customs, which thus helps enterprises save repairing and shipping cost and shipment time.
Hesai Technology set up a repair center in Jiading Export Processing Zone after the zone coordinated with Jiading Customs to adopt related policies of pilot free trade zones.
