Yunongtong makes services easy

RURAL residents in Jiading can receive financial services at the Yunongtong, a fintech-based service station set up by China Construction Bank.
Yunongtong service stations are usually set up in local third-party merchants, such as supply and marketing cooperatives, clinics, supermarkets and vendors.
Staff only need to download a CCB Yunongtong app onto their smartphones or computers for early preparations. Residents can bring their bank cards and utility bills, and the staff will help them top up phone credit or pay bills on the banking terminal devices in two or three minutes.
“We no longer need to go to the bank in the town center,” said resident Yang Peiming from Lianjun Village in Huating Town.
There are 143 administrative villages in Jiading. However, bank outlets and post offices were built around the town center due to the difficulty of equipment maintenance in remote villages.
“We found that many residents in some remote rural areas have no timely access to financial services,” said Tang Haijie, general manager of individual financial business department of CCB.
“We set up Yunongtong service stations at these villages to meet demands of residents and respond to the country’s call for inclusive finance.”
Currently, Yunongtong inclusive financial service has covered all administrative villages across the district.
Tang said that the CCB aims to enhance financial awareness of rural residents, prevent financial fraud, and promote rural development.
The Yunongtong platform plans to add a smart government, convenience services and e-commerce functions for the next steps.
