Joint approach puts food on the table

- Li Xinran

TO ensure vegetable production during the epidemic, all agricultural production units and farmers in Huating Town are working with the Party to quickly mobilize and organize the workforce to resume production, and stabilize market supply.

The Party branch of the township agricultural park and the vegetable cooperatives are working together to ensure supplies. The Party branch of the park has carried out emergency mobilization of all the farmers engaged in vegetable planting in the town, calling on the farmers to return to work as soon as possible under appropriate conditions.

Led by Party members, farmers are working overtime to collect marketable vegetables. In Huating Town, the area of vegetable fields reached 170 hectares, with an average daily supply of 25 tons.

Despite the double impact of the Spring Festival holiday and the epidemic, due to adequate preparations and measures in the early stage, the workforce and supply capacity have been restored to 70 percent of the average level.

The park also optimizes the planting of vegetables, expands the production of greens, and mainly supplies vegetables such as bok choy, celery, chrysanthemum, spinach and Chinese cabbage while strengthening epidemic prevention and control at the same time.

The Party branch of the park also collected and tracked the itinerary of vegetable growers. It took immediate home quarantine measures for two returnees from key affected areas and constantly spreads information about epidemic prevention and control among farmers to ensure a safe production environment and safe food.
