Spirit in the sky
A crowd looks on from Wan Chai Waterfront Promenade as drones form the shape of a temple in the sky over Victoria Harbour last night.
About 1,000 drones created an array of shapes and patterns, including a bun tower, a dancing lion and flower board with waving flags that paid tribute to Buddha, whose birthday is celebrated on Wednesday, and the Cheung Chau Bun Festival.
The event was one of a series of harbourfront performances organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board to entice tourists and delight locals.
Harry Booth, a 27-year-old tourist from Britain found the show a “vibrant watch”.
“The drone show is more unique, rather than a fireworks show, because you see fireworks shows quite a lot all around the world,” he said.
