THE DRY-CLEANING COMPANY MARKS 45 YEARS OF SERVICE FOR HIGHPROFILE CLIENTS SUCH AS THE BRITISH ROYAL FAMILY

-

Jeeves of Belgravia is the top choice for fashionconscious individuals seeking exceptional cleaning care for their cherished designer garments.

The company opened its Hong Kong branch in 1994 and quickly established itself as the leading dry cleaning and valeting service for the city’s most stylish individuals. This year, it is celebrating its 20th anniversary by opening two new boutiques on Hong Kong Island alongside its existing shops in Central, Causeway Bay and Happy Valley.

The valeting company was set up 45 years ago in London and serves the British Royal Family, in addition to many other high- profile clients.

It employs a trademark seven- stage dry cleaning process in which every item is individually inspected, treated and packaged. Jeeves is renowned for its unique combination of the latest dry- cleaning technology with dedication to the art of hand- finishing.

The handling process begins with pre- spotting, identifying defects and stains, and pinpointing the most appropriate treatment for the garment and its fabric. The correct cleaning process is then selected. After cleaning, a quality control officer will thoroughly inspect the product and, once it has met the exact standard, will pass it on to the next department for finishing and packaging.

Special attention is given to garments with delicate fabrics to identify the appropriate hand- cleaning technique. Heavily- beaded gowns will be treated in a way that will preserve the shine of crystals or colourful beads. Suede, leather, silk, satin and brocade all have separate treatment regimes.

Director of sales and marketing Ryan Merszei says: “Garment labels may give basic cleaning details but they are not necessarily accurate when one or more materials are used in a particular garment. When in doubt let us do the research and take on the challenge to ensure the garment stays in pristine condition, just the way it was when you bought it.”

Jeeves has provided cleaning services for many theatrical productions visiting Hong Kong, including the popular musical Les Misérables, who’s production accountant praised its service as “very efficient and thorough”, with the costumes always returned in “immaculate condition and well- presented.” A woman who entrusted Jeeves with a 110- year- old evening dress praised its “service, courtesy, effort and results.”

Hong Kong is among the 10 cities around the world with a Jeeves branch, along with Chengdu, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Manila and Singapore, while new branches are due to open shortly in Shanghai and Beijing.
