triking interpretations of 19th-century designs from the Tiffany Archives feature among the elaborate creations of design director Francesca Amfitheatrof for the Blue Book collection of high jewellery, which is built around the theme “The Art of the Sea” this year.

“Our jewellery honours the sea as the source of life and acknowledges the many ways we are inexorably linked to the natural world,” says Amfitheatrof. Highlights of the collection include a 21.04-carat round aquamarine bracelet in an explosion of mixedcut gemstones, including tsavorites, sapphires and diamonds, and a diamond bracelet with a large, vibrant opal at its centre echoing the colours and fluidity of the ocean.

Emma Stone made a splash on the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards with the help of the Blue Book, wearing wavelike bracelets in white and yellow gold with rose-cut diamonds. She wasn’t the only celebrity to wear Tiffany & Co to the Oscars; Cate Blanchett sported a showstopping aquamarine, diamond and turquoise necklace in a fluid platinum setting, and Reese Witherspoon showed off a platinum ring with a 3.03-carat fancy intense blue diamond.

Tiffany & Co took over celebrity chef Jean- Georges Vongerichten’s New York restaurant ABC Kitchen for the official launch of the collection. Witherspoon and fellow actresses Olivia Wilde and Amber Heard were among the VIP guests who attended the intimate evening reception.
