The Italian maison has created an elegant and vibrant autumn/winter 2015 women’s collection, complemented by playful accessories
Seductive Italian leather and suede boots in rich shades of chocolate, caramel and liquorice contrast with platform sandals featuring fur ankle straps and sculpted heels to make up Salvatore Ferragamo’s sensational collection of women’s accessories this season.
The delectable designs include an open-toe bootie with arch-shaped heels, a T-strap sandal with mink upper, and cone-shaped heels bound in crocodile skin and suede.
Ferragamo’s creative director, Massimiliano Giornetti, presents this range of fabulous footwear to enhance the sensual fabrics of the collection’s garments, which comprise sleek silhouettes in bold colour palettes including raspberry, banana and forest green, presented in block form as well as dramatic stripes, geometric and animal patterns.
Ferragamo’s theme this season is streamlined but with a wow factor. As has been noted, it’s a classic but far from conservative collection by Giornetti, who says he designs for real women.
Well known for his minimalist approach to fashion, the designer promises he would never compromise on quality or fit—that goes for his footwear and accessories as well as clothing—and every item is still made in Italy, such as the contemporary take on the Renaissance boot made famous by the maison back in the 1930s. This season’s fresh interpretations have been made possible by technological innovation, superlative craftsmanship and the talent of Giornetti, who continues to create pieces intended to last long into the future.
This collection includes glamorous embellishments and playful accessories, featuring a plethora of fur and exotic skins as well as soft calf leather. They include the shoulder bags in mink and leather or the charming cross-body bags also made with fur, and striped bucket bags that reveal flashes of contrasting lining.
Other must-have accessories include carré scarves in silk twill, silk jacquard shawls featuring faded glass prints, and luxuriously light velvet and silk jacquard stoles. Modern floral lace, adevoré silk and floating silk cashmere stoles add oomph to the traffic-stopping garments, while mink collars in emerald green and pearl grey match the coats and jackets.
A selection of quirky jewellery includes knotted bracelets combining metal, leather and fur, along with matching crocodile belts with twisted origami-type folding. Sensual mink gloves add a final, fabulous flourish.
