A Natural Glow

The stylish Tansy Lau-tom achieves a glowing complexion with help from Hera

Most women would agree that when it comes to a make-up and beauty regime, the ease and simplicity of application is essential. This is particularly true for those busy mothers who need to dedicate the majority of their time to their children.

The effervescent Tansy Lautom recently discovered Korean cosmetics brand Hera, whose products can help reduce signs of ageing while giving a naturallooking finish. Formerly in fashion PR, Tansy is a full-time mother of two (soon to be three)—and now more aware than ever of the ingredients in products she uses, as well as the luxury of time.

“I like to keep my beauty regime quite simple. In the mornings, after I clean my face, I just put on a foundation, such as Hera’s UV Mist Cushion,” says Tansy. “It’s quite easy because it also has sun protection in it, so I don’t have to worry about sunscreen.”

One of the brand’s most popular products, the UV Mist Cushion allows women to achieve a natural, dewy finish that lasts up to 12 hours, all while helping to block out the sun’s harmful rays. The Age Reverse Cushion is also a bestseller, giving skin a radiant finish coupled with anti-ageing properties.

“Hera works well for me because the cushion foundation is light and applies really well. I just put it on my face with a bit of loose powder, and everything looks evenly toned,” explains Tansy.

For ultimate coverage, it is recommended to tap the foundation onto your skin with the sponge provided, instead of pulling the product across your face, as this often ends in a streaky and uneven effect. Complete your look with a pop of colour—hera also has a moisturising Rouge Holic lipstick line that gives off a hint of sparkle under sunlight, with a lasting formula that keeps lips looking moist and smooth.

“I’ve been using Korean beauty products for a while now, as I feel that they’re quite suitable for Asian women,” says Tansy. “They look natural and feel less greasy than some of the other brands that I’ve tried over the years.”

Hera currently has a number of pop-up shops across Hong Kong—exclusively at DFS outlets. The main pop-up store at T Galleria by DFS on Tsim Sha Tsui’s Canton Road is open until the end of November.
