Offering a range of luxurious massage services for parents and their little ones, Levitate takes the spa experience to the next level

-

Anew spa concept that opened in Aberdeen last month, Levitate promises to spoil parents and children alike with its family-focused menu of luxurious spa services. The unique concept offers a safe and tranquil sanctuary where the whole family can relax and unwind.

Started by Joey Lau and her husband, Gordon Hui, the managing director of Sunseeker Asia, the name Levitate refers to that feeling of weightlessness that can come after an especially ethereal foot massage. However, it’s not just about pampering mum and dad. This new spa concept also specialises in infant massages, which are intended to improve many aspects of a child’s well-being, from digestive health to brain development and sleep schedules.

Hong Kong model and mother-of-two Cara G Mcilroy is already on board with the concept. “As a mum, sometimes if you take time to do something for yourself, you feel so guilty and end up spending the whole time thinking about how you should be with your kids,” says Cara. “But this takes away that mummy guilt because they can share the experience with you, and have a nice time too.”

In addition to the sophisticated spa services, parents can also enrol in infant massage classes so that they can learn to pamper their little ones using proper techniques at home. “I think that massage can be therapeutic for any person— being touched in general is so relaxing,” says Cara. “Any time I feel stressed or sick, or just want some me-time, a massage is the perfect thing. As a mother, I’d love to learn how to massage my kids to help them sleep better and relax.”

For those older tykes who can’t sit still long enough for a massage? Levitate offers a supervised play area, as well as arts and crafts classes in the afternoons. “This is great for toddlers who are around our daughter India’s age,” says Cara’s husband, photographer Jesper Mcilroy. “She would love this kind of thing.”

In chaotic Hong Kong, where you’re constantly bombarded with sounds, sights and smells, sometimes all you need is an urban retreat where you and your family can be pampered, relax and walk away feeling a little bit lighter.

“When you come to Levitate, you’re going to have a luxurious experience in a safe and clean environment,” says Cara. “While you’re relaxing, your child is too, which will help you enjoy your spa time so much more.”

Levitate is located in Shop B, Level 2, No. 11 Sham Wan Road, Aberdeen and bookings can be made by phone at +852 2997 2787
