FESTIVE Flavours
Celebrate Christmas at Harbour City with an enticing array of culinary and confectionary delights
The holiday season at Hong Kong’s shopping malls always makes for a spectacular visit. With the abundant and diverse retail choices at Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui, it’s an especially inviting location at this time of year.
This bustling transport hub and retail giant also offers a range of dining destinations. One of the top choices is French fine-dining luminary ÉPURE, with its fantastic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island—ideal for special occasions and festive celebrations. This year, executive chef Nicolas Boutin and his talented team have created a glamorous feast for diners, offering the best of French cuisine and incorporating the finest in-season ingredients such as winter black truffles, blue lobsters, foie gras, Normandy scallops and Dover sole, to mention just a few.
Christmas diners can choose from two-, threeand four-course menus for lunch or dinner, with packages that include free-flow champagne or an array of hot drinks such as chocolate, ginger, cherry or mulled wine, as well as festive cocktails and mocktails. Afternoon tea is available in La Terrasse until 5pm on December 24, 25 and 31, after which diners are invited to relax in the lounge area or cafe.
Everybody’s favourite family restaurant, Jamie’s Italian, is offering a special three-course Christmas
set menu for HK$588, which includes gastronomic delights for the main courses, such as 24-hour slow-cooked roasted pork belly, or pan-fried sea bass fillets served on celeriac and fennel purée with brown shrimp and samphire. Starters include the mouth-watering cured and crispy fish plank (which incorporates beetroot-cured salmon, roasted shellfish and smoked mackerel pâté), while delectable desserts such as the Epic Mocha Brownie with honeycomb ice cream and spiced caramelised popcorn will tantalise the taste buds. The menu also includes a glass of sparkling prosecco on arrival.
For Christmas shoppers seeking an exceptional epicurean experience, the Queen of Chocolate at C’est La B is a special blend of five of the finest varieties of chocolate from Belgium, France and Italy. Expect different textures of dark chocolate with light sponge cake, fudge and chocolate shavings, plus a layer of white chocolate mousse. Certainly fit for a queen (or a king), the Queen of Chocolate cake is available in two sizes: 500g and 1kg.
Of course, Christmas wouldn’t be the same without the gift of Godiva chocolates. This favourite brand is a tempting treat all year round, but is unparalleled when it comes to celebratory confectionary. The 2015 Godiva Christmas Collection entices with festive flavour combinations such as its Winter Milk Chocolate—a distinctive milk chocolate ganache covered in creamy milk chocolate, which makes every day feel like a special occasion—and the Winter Raspberry Dark Chocolate—a raspberry-flavoured dark chocolate shell filled with a rich dark chocolate ganache that’s guaranteed to conjure up fun with every bite.
For gift-giving, Godiva’s brand new Christmas Truffe Collection comprises a range of textures through three limited edition truffles: caramel corn, gingerbread chocolate and raspberry Linzer torte chocolate. Individually wrapped in colourful foil, each flavour has its own character. Godiva has also created limited edition Christmas gift boxes in festive red or green, available in a range of sizes, while its selection of novelty gift boxes will suit all tastes. For the ultimate in luxury, Godiva offers premium Christmas gift boxes and six irresistible hampers, as well as a range of gift ideas such as its divine limited edition bone-china tea set.
This holiday season, Harbour City is definitely the place to be.
