Silver-screen Dreams

The new boutique hotel Madera Hollywood, inspired by the golden age of cinema, opens in red-carpet style

-

In the heart of Hong Kong’s bustling Central district is a new boutique hotel that screams Hollywood glamour like no other. With untamed luxury at its core, the Madera Hollywood harks back to the golden age of Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby—and is designed in the classic Hollywood Regency style, which was particularly loved by the stars for its bold, bright colours.

Conveniently located at 53 Hollywood Road, the eye-catching Madera Hollywood is perfect for your out-of-town visitors—or even a staycation. Nestled in the vibrant Soho district on the corner of Peel Street, guests have a wealth of experiences at their doorstep. Aside from myriad restaurants, bars, galleries and shops nearby, the area is home to attractions such as the former Police Married Quarters (PMQ) and the Man Mo Temple.

The hotel, by the Madera Group (part of Hip Shing Hong Holdings), boasts 38 spacious onebedroom suites. Guests have six types of room accommodations to choose from, including the deluxe, premier, grand deluxe and grand premier suites, as well as two top-floor gems—the Monroe and Chaplin suites. Room sizes range generously from 600sqft to 750sqft and feature memorabilia from icons of the silver screen. The hotel also boasts the funky Hollywood Lounge for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, and a 24-hour gym with top-of-the-range equipment from the Italian brand Technogym.

Numerous in-room amenities are also available. On check-in, your guests will receive a smartphone with unlimited data as well as free local and international calls. Once they’re in their room, they’ll adore the cute kitchenette, the soothing rain shower (with bathroom amenities from the Gilchrist & Soames London Collection), the 55-inch LED TV and JBL speakers. Some of the suites also include mattresses from upscale brand Duxiana to ensure guests sleep well after a day of sightseeing.

David Fong, the managing director of familyowned Hip Shing Hong Holdings, which operates the hotel, expressed his enthusiasm for what sets Madera Hollywood apart from the rest. “Besides its great location, Madera Hollywood offers a unique luxury experience through our staff’s tailored services for our guests. We also pay a great deal of attention to detail—to create a fun and stylish hotel to stay in and to make Madera Hollywood a great addition to the Soho district.”

Set to open its doors this month, with special opening rates starting from HK$1,800, you can live like a star at the Madera Hollywood.
